Work with us
We don't just provide a job, we provide an opportunity to fulfill your potential.
Our business is, in many ways, different to a lot of others.
We pride ourselves on the relationships we have with our staff which is reflected in our staff retention rates.
Many of our team members have been with us from the beginning.
At BCT Group, we don’t just provide a job. We provide a career pathway so you can fulfil your potential.
We want the experience of working with us to be as rewarding and enjoyable as possible.
Why work with us?
-
We believe in rewarding high performance.
If you put in the work, come up with creative ideas and are proactive in your approach, you’ll be rewarded with career progression.
-
We work hard but we also love to socialise.
We have quarterly social catch-ups throughout the year including a very festive Christmas Party. This is another way of thanking you for everything you bring to BCT Group.
-
We understand that you have a life outside of work.
That’s why we provide flexible working arrangements and part-time positions where appropriate. Did we mention our construction team knock off at 1pm every Friday?
-
We’re a local and rapidly growing family business.
Operating in Melbourne’s community-minded and vibrant inner west, our office is a stone’s throw from local cafes, schools and shops.
Your pathway from apprentice to builder
Our carpentry team is made up of 1st to 4th year apprentices and qualified carpenters.
Our career pathway for our carpenters goes something like this:
-
You join our construction team and commit to being honest and respectful to your colleagues, peers, and teammates.
-
You achieve excellent attendance and results at trade school.
-
As your skills and knowledge grow so do your opportunities.
-
You qualify with the skills required to launch your career.
-
Within four years, you are given the opportunity to become a lead carpenter on projects and share your skills with apprentices.
-
You register with the VBA as a domestic builder, limited to carpentry.
-
With experience, more opportunities open up including the chance to progress to Project Carpenter in charge of running a project from demolition to completion alongside our project managers.
-
When you have the necessary skills and knowledge, you become a project manager and register as a domestic builder.
We offer opportunities and support. Your success is up to you.
I feel so grateful to work with a boss and a team that is so supportive and accommodating to my personal needs. As a single mum, I really appreciate the flexibility of working during school hours and being rewarded for a job well done. Couldn't ask for a better place to work.
