We have grown into a large team with expertise across architecture, interior design and construction. Our hardworking team along with our trusted suppliers and contractors share a commitment to quality, honesty, collaboration and creativity.

Executive Team

Bevan Uren Builder

As our founder and with over 40 years’ experience in the building industry, Bevan works with the executive team to set the business direction, reviews operations and ensures that our high standards are both maintained and improved. 
 

Bevan imparts his knowledge onto the rest of the team, to manage each of their departments and keep our building process as effective and efficient as possible. 

Bevan is currently leading BCT Group - Steel Framing, a sister company of BCT Group.

Travis Uren
Construction

Cert IV Building & Construction, Dip Building & Construction, Cert III OH&S

Having worked on residential new builds, townhouse developments and multi-level apartment complexes, Travis joined the family business in 2016 bringing with him a wealth of construction knowledge and industry experience.
 

Travis now leads the BCT Group Construction team, overseeing all of our construction projects and working closely with our project managers and on-site teams ensuring that each project is on time, on budget and is completed to the highest standard of quality. 
 

Immersing himself within the business, Travis ensures strong communication between our construction, estimating and design teams which guarantees the best possible outcome for our customers.

Katelyn Vincent
Finance & HR

 

Bach Economics (Accounting)

Katelyn possesses a broad base of industry experience having held finance & consulting roles within a variety of industries whilst working at Ernst & Young and Grant Thornton over the last 20 years.  
 

She brings a wealth of experience and best practice learnings to BCT Group and her strong financial background and commercial acumen make her a valuable member of the executive team.
 

Katelyn oversees the financial and operational management of BCT Group and takes care of our HR requirements.

Mick Neilly
Pricing & Procurement

Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management)

Mick joined BCT Group after gaining extensive experience as an estimator at large construction companies. Mick’s involvement on each project starts at the tender stage when he arranges a time to visit your site and get a ‘feel’ for the project. From there, Mick starts working on a detailed budget and scope of works – documents that are the foundation of your project proposal. 

 

Once all your project’s pricing and take-offs are complete, Mick catches up with you again to run through your proposal documents. He then makes the final adjustments to ensure everything is in line with your requirements. Outside of specific project work, Mick maintains and updates our templates, schedules and price files. 

Anders Welsh
General Manager

Dip Leadership & Management

Over his 20-year career, Anders has focussed on business development, client relationships, team leadership and management in the finance and fleet management industries.

 

Anders works collaboratively with our design team and ensures our design clients have a stress-free, smooth and enjoyable experience as they design their ideal home.

 

Anders enjoys watching most sports, with his participation limited to occasionally playing golf and surfing in the warmer weather. He is also a big fan of socialising with friends and family over dinner parties and drinks.

Design

Rhys Carter
Architecture & Design

Bach Architecture, Bach Construction Management 

Rhys uses his past experience within the commercial construction industry and combines it with his double degree in Architecture and Construction management to successfully lead BCT Groups inhouse team of architects. 
 

Our architects each look after their own projects and Rhys helps them navigate the projects through our staged design process, providing guidance and assistance to achieve key dates and documentation quality.

Anne Spirou
Interior Design

Bachelor of Design (Interior Design)

Anne has over 15 years of experience across both residential and commercial design and has worked with both large architectural firms and boutique interior design practices. 

 

Through her inquisitive nature, Anne imparts her knowledge and expertise in a friendly, intuitive and collaborative approach to bring together her clients preferred styles, colour palette, materiality and importantly budget to achieve her clients vision. 

 

Having graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Design and having spent time as a designer on reality television shows, Anne is well positioned to assist you on your next exciting project.

Hayley Burke
Town Planning, Contracts & Permits

Hayley has been with BCT Group since 2017 and currently oversees our town planning, construction contract and permit processes. 

Through her research and knowledge of the council’s town planning requirements, Hayley provides guidance to our architects to ensure our designs adhere to council overlays and design guidelines. 
 

Hayley submits and manages our projects through the town planning process, liaising regularly with the council planners and keeping our customers updated as to the progress of their project. 
 

Hayley has the enjoyable task of signing construction contracts with our customers, prior to organising building permits and preparing site documentation for our construction team.

Construction

Peta Simmons
Clients Relationships & Contracts

If you choose BCT Group as your architect and/or builder, you’ll see a fair bit of Peta’s friendly face throughout your renovation project. Peta is the main point of contact during the construction phase. Since 2016, she has ensured our clients feel heard and respected as their project progresses and are kept in the loop at all times. 

 

Peta organises and attends weekly site meetings at a time that is convenient for you. Peta then uploads the meeting minutes along with progress photos into CoConstruct, our project management software that you can access at any time. If you need to request a variation, Peta will process your request ensuring minimal disruptions and delays on site.

Antony Amendola
Projects & Sites

Dip Building & Construction, Dip Project Management, Dip Front Line Management, Cert II Carpentry, Bach Business International Trade

Antony joined BCT Group in 2022 and has brought with him over a decade of experience in renovation and restoration management. 

 

Antony oversees his projects through each of the building stages to final handover. 
 

His high attention to detail,  strong organisational, time management and communication skills ensure he achieves outstanding results for our clients.

Construction: Carpentry and Labour

The individuals above are supported by a committed team of carpenters, apprentices and labourers who work hard to deliver top quality homes for the Inner West, Geelong and Macedon Ranges communities.
