As our founder, Bevan sets the direction for the business and ensures our high standards are maintained and everyone is kept accountable.Keeping a keen eye on the operations of the business, Bevan’s main focus is ensuring our clients get the best possible outcome.


After your initial enquiry, Bevan will give you a call. He’ll organise to catch-up and hear your ideas, inspect your site and talk about how BCT Group can help realise your renovation dream. With 40 years’ experience in the building industry, Bevan is able to offer expert advice on your design, budget and timeline with a focus on making the process as efficient as possible. His experience gives you the confidence to make good decisions. And he inspires the team do their best because he expects nothing less. 


Anders Welsh

Client Relationships

Dip Leadership & Management, Cert High Performance Teams

Over his 18-year career, Anders has focussed on business development, client relationships, team leadership and management in the finance and fleet management industries.


Anders works collaboratively with our design team and ensures our design clients have a stress-free, smooth and enjoyable experience as they design their ideal home.


Anders enjoys watching most sports, with his participation limited to occasionally playing golf and surfing in the warmer weather. He is also a big fan of socialising with friends and family over dinner parties and drinks.


Hayley Burke

Contracts, Admin and Permits

Dip Life

Hayley has been in the building industry for over 10 years and worked for Porter Davis and Stockland before joining  BCT Group in May 2017. 

Hayley is the beating heart of our Seddon office and the smiling face you’ll see at the reception desk. Hayley ensures all documentation is processed so your project can move ahead in your preferred timeframe.


Hayley sources all the documentation required for your building permit before submitting it to our building surveyor. This involves liaising with architects and engineers as well as obtaining documents from council, property info and town planning permits. When you’re ready to sign your building contract, Hayley oversees the process ensuring you understand what’s expected of you and what we’ll deliver.


Mick Neilly

Estimates and Procurement

Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management)

Mick joined BCT Group after gaining extensive experience as an estimator at large construction companies. Mick’s involvement on each project starts at the tender stage when he arranges a time to visit your site and get a ‘feel’ for the project. From there, Mick starts working on a detailed budget and scope of works – documents that are the foundation of your project proposal. 


Once all your project’s pricing and take-offs are complete, Mick catches up with you again to run through your proposal documents. He then makes the final adjustments to ensure everything is in line with your requirements. Outside of specific project work, Mick maintains and updates our templates, schedules and price files. 


Xavier Ryan

Estimates and Orders

Xavier has been with BCT Group since 2017, making the switch from carpenter to estimator in mid-2020. Prior to joining the team, Xavier worked in management positions across the finance, retail and hospitality industries. 


Xavier will get involved in your project at the tender stage, working on preliminary cost estimates, identifying qualified subcontractors and negotiating on price. Throughout your project, Xavier will issue purchase orders to suppliers and contractors and assist with any variations, ensuring everything is documented and costed accordingly.




Tom Langlands

Tom helps our clients plan for a successful renovation by bringing his rich experience of lending to the table. Rhys Carter

Projects and Design

Bach Architecture, Bach Construction Management 

Before joining BCT Group in 2021, Rhys spent five years in the commercial construction industry and considers working on the Queen Vic Market Community Hub as a highlight.  

While studying a double degree in Architecture and Construction Management, Rhys completed two semesters in Sweden and London. After graduation, he continued to travel, working as a volunteer coordinator for schools and orphanages in South America.

Rhys ensures that our design team works as efficiently and collaboratively as possible so we can meet deadlines and deliver the highest standard of work possible.  Away from work, he enjoys woodwork and acting in the occasional play. Rhys is Bevan's nephew and Travis's cousin. 


Anne Spirou
Senior Interior Design

Bachelor of Design (Interior Design)

Since graduating from RMIT 15 years ago Anne has built up a range of industry experience ranging from single residential, commercial, healthcare, and high end multi-residential. After various roles in the Architecture and Design industry, the need for a change of scene landed her work in the home renovation reality TV industry.


Anne loves the ever-evolving nature of the Design industry and its ability to adapt to our environment.  She relies on her creative instinct and problem-solving skills, combined with her innate sense of scale and colour, ensuring all your interior needs are met, and the best possible outcome is achieved.


On weekends Anne is often out on day trips, hiking, occasionally Latin dancing and always planning her next holiday.


As an adolescent, Anne spent much of her spare time re-designing house plans with tracing paper and colourful markers.


Tony Ly
Steel Framing Draftsman

Bachelor’s degree of Architecture at Norton University

Tony studied a bachelors degree of Architecture at Nortons University in Cambodia. He continued to work as an architect, technical drawer and a 3D visualiser before beginning his career as a steel framing draftsman at BCT Group. He loves to be creative and thrives working collaboratively with teams for successful outcomes.Outside of work Tony spends his time camping, fishing, cooking and loves to travel.


Kevin Cortes

Master of Architecture; Bach Design (Architecture), Adv Dip Building Design

Kevin joined BCT Group in 2021 after graduating with a Masters in Architecture. Prior to pursuing his career in commercial and residential design, Kevin worked in the retail and hospitality industry.


Kevin supports our clients through the design process to ensure they feel heard and achieve the ideal result for their home or commercial space. 


Growing up in England gave him considerable knowledge in living in small spaces and how a design can best achieve making a small space feel larger than it is.


When he's not flexing his creative and technical skills at BCT Group, Kevin likes to keep active and relax with friends. He plays soccer for a club in Laverton three times a week and loves to travel.


Ebony Hopmans

Bach Architectural Design, Master Architecture 

As a student, Ebony worked at FPPV Architecture on community projects as well as Peter Barton Architects on high-end residential renovations. Ebony’s experience and talent saw her thrive as a freelance interior designer and draftsperson before she joined BCT Group. 


Ebony believes design should be informed from a micro to macro level. Her work emphasises the importance of starting with interior spaces and how clients live, then using that process of routine as a means for directing the form.

Her experience at BCT has led to an extensive knowledge on council processes. She works a lot on small lots, often with heritage overlays. She feels that the best design outcomes are a result of collaboration. Ebony thrives working closely with clients to ensure that their wishes are met, whilst also adhering to design constraints.

When she is not weaving her design magic, Ebony loves spending time with my family, cooking, making cocktails and attending live music. She also owns more than 60 houseplants!


Sook-Yan Ho

Bach Architecture, Registered Architect

Yan joined the BCT team since 2020 and has 15 years experience in residential design. Graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor Degree in Architecture , Yan worked for a number of architecture  firms in Melbourne and Canberra where she developed her skills and practical knowledge working on different types of projects from small houses to large scale commercial projects.⁠ 


As part of the Inner West community, Yan understands the needs of our clients and young family. She prides herself as a good listener to clients' needs and wishes.  She believes that good design is collaborative and consultative journey with our clients to deliver design outcomes that strike balance between budget and aesthetic. 


Outside of work, Yan enjoys spending time with her family, baking and reading. She also likes to run and listen to podcasts.

Travis Uren

Projects and Sites

Travis joined the family business in 2016 to oversee the management of all our sites. He brought a wealth of experience with him having worked on multilevel apartment complexes, large townhouse developments and residential new builds. 


In partnership with our project carpenters, Travis ensures our construction team meets (and often exceeds) our quality standards so we can achieve the design intent. By scheduling all our labour, trades and materials, Travis ensures our sites run efficiently and key milestones are achieved. 


Rob Randles

Projects and Sites

Cert III Carpentry, Bach of Business

Rob joined BCT Group in 2017 bringing with him a diverse background in all areas of carpentry. He completed his apprenticeship working on medium to large scale domestic extensions and renovations. He went on to refine his skills working for Sinjen Group, a premium architectural builder specialising in high-impact design projects.


Rob controls ensures our workmanship is of the highest standard, completed safely and on time. He leads and mentors a team of carpenters, apprentices and labourers overseeing the build through formwork, framing, lockup, fix and fit off. He also takes an active role in implementing our OH&S management systems so everyone gets home from site safely.


Peta Hills

Clients and Contracts

Dip Travel

If you choose BCT Group as your architect and/or builder, you’ll see a fair bit of Peta’s friendly face throughout your renovation project. Peta is the main point of contact during the construction phase. Since 2016, she has ensured our clients feel heard and respected as their project progresses and are kept in the loop at all times. 


Peta organises and attends weekly site meetings at a time that is convenient for you. Peta then uploads the meeting minutes along with progress photos into CoConstruct, our project management software that you can access at any time. If you need to request a variation, Peta will process your request ensuring minimal disruptions and delays on site.


Katelyn Vincent

Finance and Administration

Bach Economics (Accounting)

Katelyn grew up in Brighton but ventured over the bridge in 1997 and never looked back. As a graduate, Katelyn worked at Ernst & Young for five years after which she became a Financial Controller at William Buck (now Grant Thornton) for 10 years.  In 2019, she decided to take some time off and do some bookkeeping on the side. Katelyn soon found she missed workplace interaction so jumped at the opportunity to join BCT Group in August 2020.


When she’s not managing our finances, Katelyn loves catching up with friends, playing tennis and golf as well as bushwalking.
