Over the last nine years we have grown into a thriving business that encompasses architecture, interior design and construction. In  addition to the people we will introduce here, we have a hardworking team of labourers and carpentry apprentices as well as a trusted team of suppliers and contractors who share our vision for building honest and respectful relationships with our clients.

Bevan Uren, Director

As our founder, Bevan sets the direction for the business and ensures our high standards are maintained and everyone is kept accountable.Keeping a keen eye on the operations of the business, Bevan’s main focus is ensuring our clients get the best possible outcome.

 

After your initial enquiry, Bevan will give you a call. He’ll organise to catch-up and hear your ideas, inspect your site and talk about how BCT Group can help realise your renovation dream. With 40 years’ experience in the building industry, Bevan is able to offer expert advice on your design, budget and timeline with a focus on making the process as efficient as possible. His experience gives you the confidence to make good decisions. And he inspires the team do their best because he expects nothing less. 

Anders Welsh, Client Relationships

Dip Leadership & Management, Cert High Performance Teams

Over his 18-year career, Anders has focussed on business development, client relationships, team leadership and management in the finance and fleet management industries.

 

Anders works collaboratively with our design team and ensures our design clients have a stress-free, smooth and enjoyable experience as they design their ideal home.

 

Anders enjoys watching most sports, with his participation limited to occasionally playing golf and surfing in the warmer weather. He is also a big fan of socialising with friends and family over dinner parties and drinks.

Michael Neilly, Estimates & Procurement

Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management)

Mick joined BCT Group after gaining extensive experience as an estimator at large construction companies. Mick’s involvement on each project starts at the tender stage when he arranges a time to visit your site and get a ‘feel’ for the project. From there, Mick starts working on a detailed budget and scope of works – documents that are the foundation of your project proposal. 

 

Once all your project’s pricing and take-offs are complete, Mick catches up with you again to run through your proposal documents. He then makes the final adjustments to ensure everything is in line with your requirements. Outside of specific project work, Mick maintains and updates our templates, schedules and price files. 

Xavier Ryan, Estimator

Cert III Carpentry, Cert IV Building & Construction

Xavier has been with BCT Group since 2017, making the switch from carpenter to estimator in mid-2020. Prior to joining the team, Xavier worked in management positions across the finance, retail and hospitality industries. 

 

Xavier will get involved in your project at the tender stage, working on preliminary cost estimates, identifying qualified subcontractors and negotiating on price. Throughout your project, Xavier will issue purchase orders to suppliers and contractors and assist with any variations, ensuring everything is documented and costed accordingly. 

Hayley Burke, Office & Administration

Hayley has been in the building industry for over 10 years and worked for Porter Davis and Stockland before joining  BCT Group in May 2017. 
 

Hayley is the beating heart of our Seddon office and the smiling face you’ll see at the reception desk. Hayley ensures all documentation is processed so your project can move ahead in your preferred timeframe. Hayley sources all the documentation required for your building permit before submitting it to our building surveyor. This involves liaising with architects and engineers as well as obtaining documents from council, property info and town planning permits. When you’re ready to sign your building contract, Hayley oversees the process ensuring you understand what’s expected of you and what we’ll deliver.

Ngan Tran, Architectural Team Leader

Bachelor of Architecture

Ngan joined our design studio in 2018 after finishing her architecture degree and soon made an impression on our clients for her innovative and creative design work.

 

Ngan leads the design team to deliver the best possible outcomes for your project and design. She translates your renovation ideas, wants and needs into design concepts that suit your lifestyle, personality and budget. Ngan then combines your favoured features into a final concept which is transformed into detailed working drawings and internal elevations. Throughout the process, Ngan will liaise with our construction team to ensure your home is of exceptional quality and delivered on time and within budget. 

Sook-Yan Ho, Architect

Bach of Architecture, Registered Architect

Sook-Yan is the newest member of our design studio, joining the BCT Group team in June 2020. After working for various architectural firms across residential, commercial and institutional projects, Yan found her true calling was residential design. 

Yan helps our clients design their dream home by thoughtfully addressing the practical and aesthetic elements of each space. Being a mum of two children, Yan has an in-depth understanding of what families need and desire as their children grow. This means she will design a home that not only works for you now, but well into the future. 
 

Grant Sanderink, Architectural Graduate

Master of Architecture, Bach of Design (Architecture), Adv Dip Building Design

Grant is a recent Master of Architecture graduate with a passion for pragmatic design. He joined our design studio in late 2019 and hit the ground running, impressing our clients with his thoughtful and progressive designs.

 

Grant works with you to design and develop the vision for your dream home, ensuring the final product is a realistic reflection of your lifestyle, character and way of life. From the production of informative 3D visuals to the preparation of detailed construction documents, Grant’s priority is to deliver a home that not only looks stunning and functions well, but improves your quality of life.

Melissa Lunardon, Interior Designer

Dip Interior Decoration and Design, Cert IV Training and Assessment

With over 12 years’ experience, Melissa is a highly respected interior designer, whose professional work spans both residential and commercial projects. With her work featured in Australia’s leading design blogs and magazines, Melissa has established herself as an industry leader. 

 

Melissa will work with you to create beautiful, bespoke living spaces. Once your drawings have been finalised, Melissa will help you select fixtures and fittings as well as paint colours and cabinetry designs ensuring every detail in your spec reflects your lifestyle and personality while being functional and budget-friendly. 

Jennifer Lam, Drafting & Interiors

Dip Interior Design

Jenn grew up in Vancouver, Canada before moving to Melbourne in 2018. Jenn previously worked in administration with a biotech company and decided to take the leap into design completing a Diploma of Interior Design at RMIT.

 

Jenn is always up for trying something new and exploring the outdoors but if she’s honest she spends most of her time thinking about food.

 

Jenn works with our clients to transform their ideas into detailed internal drawings and create a space that meets all their needs. She believes in designing with the intentions of wellbeing and awareness to enhance the client's experience and enable them to grow with their home for years to come.

Travis Uren, Projects & Sites

Cert IV Building & Construction, Dip Building & Construction, Cert III OH&S

Travis joined the family business in 2016 to oversee the management of all our sites. He brought a wealth of experience with him having worked on multilevel apartment complexes, large townhouse developments and residential new builds. 

 

In partnership with our project carpenters, Travis ensures our construction team meets (and often exceeds) our quality standards so we can achieve the design intent. By scheduling all our labour, trades and materials, Travis ensures our sites run efficiently and key milestones are achieved. 

Phyllis Zver, Workflow & Construction

Phyllis worked with one of Australia’s largest home builders as a construction and maintenance expert for over 16 years. Needless to say, she knows pretty much everything there is to know about building a top quality home. 

 

Once your contracts are signed, Phyllis raises all the purchase orders related to your job so we’re ready for your site start. She also issues your invoices for stage claims and variations. Through weekly workflow meetings with the team, Phyllis ensures our construction schedule is up to date and anyissues are dealt with swiftly and efficiently. A stickler for detail. Phyllis thoroughly inspects your site ensuring every aspect gets the BCT tick of approval before it’s handed over to you. 

Peta Hills, Clients & Contracts

Dip Travel

If you choose BCT Group as your architect and/or builder, you’ll see a fair bit of Peta’s friendly face throughout your renovation project. Peta is the main point of contact during the construction phase. Since 2016, she has ensured our clients feel heard and respected as their project progresses and are kept in the loop at all times. 

 

Peta organises and attends weekly site meetings at a time that is convenient for you. Peta then uploads the meeting minutes along with progress photos into CoConstruct, our project management software that you can access at any time. If you need to request a variation, Peta will process your request ensuring minimal disruptions and delays on site.

Katelyn Vincent, Finance & Administration

Bach Economics (Accounting)

Katelyn grew up in Brighton but ventured over the bridge in 1997 and never looked back. As a graduate, Katelyn worked at Ernst & Young for five years after which she became a Financial Controller at William Buck (now Grant Thornton) for 10 years.  In 2019, she decided to take some time off and do some bookkeeping on the side. Katelyn soon found she missed workplace interaction so jumped at the opportunity to join BCT Group in August 2020.

 

When she’s not managing our finances, Katelyn loves catching up with friends, playing tennis and golf as well as bushwalking.

Jacqui McCallum, Communications & Marketing

Master of Communication, Dip Professional Writing & Editing, Dip Music Theatre

Jacqui handles all of our communications and marketing including management of our website, social media and all promotional activities. With over 12 years’ experience as a communications strategist, copywriter and journalist, Jacqui loves promoting the people behind BCT Group and the top quality work we produce in partnership with our contractors and suppliers. 

 

Jacqui will upload progress shots of your project to our social channels and organise professional photography of your completed project. She’ll also ask you to provide valuable feedback to us via a project completion survey.

Construction: Site Management

Our project carpenters - Rob and George - are responsible for controlling all onsite construction and ensuring our workmanship is of the highest standard, completed safely and on time. They each lead and mentor a team of carpenters, apprentices and labourers overseeing the build through formwork, framing, lockup, fix and fit off. They also take an active role in implementing our OH&S management systems so everyone gets home from site safely. In partnership with Travis, our project carpenters schedule and coordinate trades and suppliers. They also liaise directly with you from the beginning of the job to the day we hand back the keys, providing honest and timely advice so you receive the home you desire. 

Rob Randles, Project Carpenter

Cert III Carpentry, Bach of Business

Rob joined BCT Group in 2017 bringing with him a diverse background in all areas of carpentry. He completed his apprenticeship working on medium to large scale domestic extensions and renovations. He went on to refine his skills working for Sinjen Group, a premium architectural builder specialising in high-impact design projects in the inner eastern suburbs. 

George Di Ciero, Project Carpenter

Cert III Carpentry

George started down the carpentry path as soon as he could walk thanks to his Dad. He started his apprenticeship the day after he finished school and qualified in 2018 thanks to Bevan the team at BCT Group. He absolutely loves what he does and is a great asset to the team with many of our clients raving about his solid work ethic and 'can do' attitude.
