Cooper Johnstone

Passionate about the building industry and residential construction, Cooper began his career with BCT Group in 2017 as an apprentice carpenter. After completing his qualification, he went on to gain valuable experience as a leading hand carpenter across a range of projects with various builders, developing a strong understanding of construction and the renovation process from the ground up.

Building on his hands-on trade background, Cooper then moved into site management, where he spent two and a half years coordinating trades, managing construction programs and ensuring projects ran smoothly through every stage of the build. Having recently returned to BCT Group as a Project Manager, Cooper is able to combine his practical site experience with his project management expertise to guide projects from commencement through to completion.

Cooper prides himself on his communication skills, collaborative approach and ability to problem solve. Having worked his way through the industry, he has a genuine understanding of the challenges that can arise during construction and works closely with clients, trades and consultants to keep projects on track while creating a positive experience throughout the journey

He enjoys managing the day-to-day progression of his projects, building strong relationships with trades and seeing each stage of construction come together. For Cooper, one of the most rewarding parts of his role is witnessing the transformation that occurs during a renovation and seeing an older home evolve into a space that better suits the lifestyle of its owners.

A local through and through, Cooper grew up in Williamstown and now lives in Altona. He has strong ties to the local community, having played football for Williamstown CYMS and cricket for both Spotswood and Williamstown CYMS.

Away from work, Cooper enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends. A fan of great storytelling, his favourite film is The Departed, and he enjoys any opportunity to switch off and make the most of his time outside of work.
