Yarraville 

Our 1/5 Yarraville clients engaged BCT Group to design and build their family home from the ground up, creating a contemporary residence tailored to the needs of a growing family. The brief focused on delivering a highly functional home that maximised natural light, spatial efficiency and innovative storage solutions, while embracing a minimalist design aesthetic inspired by natural materials and timeless architecture.

As this build formed part of a dual-occupancy subdivision project, our team quickly got to work developing a design that would maximise the potential of the site while ensuring each dwelling maintained its own identity, privacy and sense of space. Careful planning was undertaken to create a home that feels open, light-filled and highly liveable despite the constraints often associated with higher-density developments.

At the heart of the home is a spacious open-plan living area designed to bring the family together, complemented by a dedicated study, integrated storage solutions and an internal atrium that enhances natural light and ventilation throughout. The master suite provides a private retreat with a walk-in robe and ensuite, while the secondary bedrooms incorporate built-in robes, study areas and flexible storage designed to adapt as the children grow.

Drawing inspiration from minimalist Japanese design principles, the material palette celebrates natural finishes including timber, exposed brick and textured surfaces, creating warmth and authenticity throughout the home. The result is a contemporary family residence that balances practicality, comfort and architectural simplicity, delivering a home designed to support modern family living for years to come.
