Susan Baker, Architect
Sue joined BCT in June 2019 as demand continued to rise for our design offering. Sue brings a wealth of experience to the team as one of Victoria’s most respected architects.
Sue has been in the building industry for over 30 years focussing on design, documentation and contract administration. For the last 25 years, Sue has served as a Victorian judge in the HIA Housing Awards.

Ngan Tran, Architectural Graduate
Bachelor of Architecture
Ngan joined the team in August 2018 as an architectural graduate. Ngan works closely with Sharon, translating vision to paper by collaborating designs and ideas onto working drawings.
After four years of blood, sweat, tears and countless all-nighters, Ngan finished her degree and BCT was lucky enough to snap her up. Quirky by nature and a lover of outdoor adventures, Ngan has been bitten by the travel bug and is keen to beat her own record of exploring six countries in six months.

Architecture and Interior Design
Planning a home renovation but no idea where to start?
Looking for a one-stop-shop that can handle it all from go to whoa?
We manage everything from design concepts to construction completion.
At BCT Group we take the stress out of home renovation by handling everything from design to construction. Our architects and interior designer will work with you to design a home that is beautiful, buildable and doesn’t break the bank.
Why should you choose a company that designs AND builds your home?
-
You'll get a design you can afford.
When we started out, we quoted jobs with plans prepared by others only for our clients to realise that the design was way out of their budget. At BCT Group, our designers consult directly with the construction team from the get go so they only present you with design concepts that align with your budget.
-
You benefit from local expertise.
It’s vital that your architect and builder understand the local conditions as well as all relevant building regulations. Before design begins, we carefully analyse your site to ensure we understand the structural integrity and any potential limitations to the scope of work. Because we only work in the inner western suburbs of Melbourne, we have a thorough understanding of your hood (including that highly reactive soil).
-
We’re pretty darn good at what we do.
Our design and construct team know their stuff. They’ll come up with ideas you haven’t even considered and go beyond the basics to create a home that suits your life and reflects your style. In addition to detailed drawings and a quality build, we can help you select everything from tiles and tapware to paint colours and pendant lights.

Ebony Hopmans
Architecture
As a student, Ebony worked at FPPV Architecture on community projects as well as Peter Barton Architects on high-end residential renovations. Ebony’s experience and talent saw her thrive as a freelance interior designer and draftsperson before she joined BCT Group.
Ebony believes design should be informed from a micro to macro level. Her work emphasises the importance of starting with interior spaces and how clients live, then using that process of routine as a means for directing the form.
Her experience at BCT has led to an extensive knowledge on council processes. She works a lot on small lots, often with heritage overlays. She feels that the best design outcomes are a result of collaboration. Ebony thrives working closely with clients to ensure that their wishes are met, whilst also adhering to design constraints.
When she is not weaving her design magic, Ebony loves spending time with my family, cooking, making cocktails and attending live music. She also owns more than 60 houseplants!
